Liparis nervosa var. khasiana

Khasi Liparis is a terrestrial orchid, 11-30 cm tall. Pseudobulbs are small, ovoid, sheathed, narrowed above, 1.5-3 x 0.5-0.7 cm. Leaves are 2 or 3, broadly ovate to round-ovate, nearly stalkless to shortly stalked 4.5-8 x 3-5.6 cm; leaf-stalk 0.5-2 cm long. Infloresence is 9-12-flowered; flower-cluster-stalk hairless, ebracteate or with a single, small bract, 9-13 cm long; axis hairless, 3-4.5cm long; floral bracts small, ovate-lanceshaped to linear-lanceshaped, 1.-1.5 x 0.45-0.55 mm. Flowerss are 7-9 mm across, uniformly purple, lip purple-brown; flower-stalk and ovary long, slender, hairless, 0.6-1.1 cm long. Dorsal sepal is oblong-lanceshaped, somewhat pointed, 3-4.5 x 1-1.5mm; lateral sepals oblong, blunt, 4-5 x 1.5-2mm. Petals are linear-oblong, blunt, 4.5-5.5 x 0.5-0.8 mm. Lip is simple, wedge-shaped, inverted-heart-shaped, broader at tip or 2-lobed, margins weakly wavy, 4-5 x 2-3mm. Column is curved, 2.5-3 mm long. Fruit is erect, stalked, 1.2-1.5 x 0.4-0.6 cm; stalk 7-8 mm long. Khasi Liparis is found in Nepal to East Himalaya.
